Kanemochi Kuwait

Kanemochi is a dessert/ice cream brand well-known for its fresh Japanese mochi filled with premium ice cream. I first thought it originated in Japan but it’s actually from Thailand.

It was my first time to taste these awesome bite-sized goodies and was also my first time to visit Dalal Complex. The mall is pretty empty and Kanemochi is located on the first floor. The shop itself was cute and quiet, I can sit there all day and read a book or something while munching these goodies! ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜‹

There are 21 flavors of these cute, delicious treats and tonight we tried taro (their best-seller), mint chocolate, melon and pistachio with almonds. The best one for me was the taro and mint chocolate. Yummers! ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘

Each piece costs 750 fils and one piece is not enough! Ha!

The staffs were quite friendly, too! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway, for those of you who haven’t tried it yet, you can visit them in Dalal Complex, Salmiya. It’s a great way to chill out this summer!

*I’m not in any way paid to endorse or blog about Kanemochi Kuwait. I am just so happy to have tasted them tonight and thought it’s worth sharing!

Shakey’s Kuwait

I received some very unexpected good news a couple of days ago and so my friend and I decided to meet and have dinner together to discuss about it and catch up with each other’s lives, too.

We decided to go and try Shakey’s Pizza as it has just opened a few weeks/months ago. I have never dined in any Shakey’s restaurant since I came here so I was really excited but wasn’t expecting too much as I always get disappointed when I do.

So, we tried fried chicken & mojos. The chicken tastes like how I remember it should but the mojos were different and small.

We divided the pizza in two flavors, mine was hawaiian and belly buster for my friend. It’s a bit different, too from what I’m expecting but still good.

We also had pasta. My friend tried spaghetti with meatball, as in, MEATBALLLL! It’s pretty funny seeing a huge piece of meatball on top of the spaghetti! ๐Ÿ™‚ You’d feel full already just by looking at it!

Anyway, I opted for spicy seafood marinara and it was a winner! That for me was the highlight that night. The serving was a little too much for me but it’s delicious! At a very affordable price.

All in all, it was a great dinner. I think it’s safe to recommend it! ๐Ÿ™‚ The staffs are friendly, as well. I wasn’t really expecting them to be that friendly but surprisingly, they were! So that’s a big plus. Oh except for the one who settled our bill…

Check ’em out, they’re located in Salmiya, just in front of Galleria 2000.

Happy day, homo sapiens!

Bun Cha

I love Vietnamese food. Last month, I had the chance to go back to Vietnam and as an avid eater, I tried to eat as much as I could. There’s nothing I didn’t like. Everything was wow just like the first time I’ve been here and tasted their food.

For this post, let’s have bun cha…

Bun cha is said to have originated in Hanoi. It’s basically rice noodles, grilled pork in cold broth and herbs. So in a small bowl, you just have to mixed them all together then add some garlic, chili and lime.ย Most places include fried spring rolls when they serve bun cha and it perfectly complements the meal.

I noticed that bun cha is mostly served for lunch but I can eat it any time of the day. ๐Ÿ™‚

The best place, for me, is the one in Hang Manh.

Yes, there are tables on the sidewalk, and that’s normal. ๐Ÿ™‚
