She goes on singing
the same old song, remembered
the past and what’s gone.

Today’s song is…
What’s Forever For by Michael Martin Murphy.
I’ve been looking at people
And how they change with the times
And lately all I’ve been seeing are people
Throwing love away and losing their minds
Or maybe it’s me that’s gone crazy
‘Cause I can’t understand why
All these people keep hurting each other
When good love is so hard to come by
So what’s the glory in leaving
Doesn’t anybody ever stay together anymore
And if love never lasts forever
Tell me what’s forever for
I’ve been listening to people
And they say love is the key
And it’s not my way to let them lead me astray
It’s only that I want to believe
But I see love-hungry people
Trying their best to survive
While in their hands is a dying romance
And they’re not even trying to keep it alive
So what’s the glory in leaving
Doesn’t anybody ever stay together anymore
And if love never lasts forever
Tell me what’s forever for.

Today’s song is I Still by the Backstreet Boys. Yes, I’m a huge fan! It’s the kind of music I miss these days. The kind of music I’ll never get tired of listening to…
I Still – Backstreet Boys
Who are you now?
Are you still the same
Or did you change somehow?
What do you do
At this very moment when I think of you?
And when I’m looking back
How we were young and stupid
Do you remember that?
No matter how I fight it
Can’t deny it
Just can’t let you go
I still need you
I still care about you
Though everything’s been said and done
I still feel you
Like I’m right beside you
But still no word from you
Now look at me
Instead of moving on, I refuse to see
That I keep coming back
And I’m stuck in a moment
That wasn’t meant to last (to last)
I’ve tried to fight it
Can’t deny it
You don’t even know
That I still need you
I still care about you
Though everything’s been said and done
I still feel you
Like I’m right beside you
But still no word from you
No no
I wish I could find you
Just like you found me
Then I would never let you go (without you)
Though everything’s been said and done (yeah)
I still feel you (I still feel you)
Like I’m right beside you (like I’m right beside you)
But still no (still no word) word from you

The Rules:
Here’s my third and final song/lyrics for the challenge:
Lover’s Moon by Glenn Frey
There’s a lover’s moon tonight
As I look back over my shoulder
All the stars are shining bright
Just like the nights when I used to hold her
She’s out there somewhere under the lover’s moon
Lover’s moon won’t you shine on me
I’m dancing with a memory
Wish I may, I wish I might
Have one last chance to hold her tight
And she’s waiting, I know she’s waiting
I know she waits for me
Under the lover’s moon
There’s a lover’s moon tonight
Shining down on half of this world
So many souls are in its light
But for me there is just one girl
And she’s waiting, I know she’s waiting
I know she waits for me
Under the lover’s moon

Day 2 of the Three-Day Lyrical Challenge where I was tagged by Himani. Thanks again!
The Rules:
Today’s song/lyrics is:
What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong
I see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom
For me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
I see skies of blue
And clouds of white
The bright blessed day
The dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
The colors of the rainbow
So pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces
Of people going by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying, “How do you do?”
They’re really saying
“I love you”
I hear babies cry
I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more
Than I’ll never know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world.

I was so delighted the first time I was tagged/nominated for the Three-Day Lyrical Challenge. Having been tagged the second time, I’m delighted even more. Huge thanks to Himani! I really love this challenge as I get to share my favorite songs/lyrics, I know I only get to share three for every challenge and it’s not so easy to choose which would make the cut but still! Do visit Himani’s blog here if you haven’t yet!
The rules are simple:
The song/lyrics I want to share with you today is:
Is There Something by Christopher Cross
Lately I see clouds of sorrow in your eyes
Some deep sadness you can never quite disguise
Now I’m scared to ask what it’s leading to
But I’m more afraid of not asking you
Is there something that you want to tell me
Is there something that I ought to know
Are we something that’s still worth fighting for
Or should I simply let you go
Is there something I can do to reach you
Are we something more than history
I’ll find some way to convince you to stay
If you just tell me honestly
Is there something left of you and me
You’ve got secrets you’ve been keeping for too long
And I’m going crazy acting like there’s nothing wrong
I can taste the truth every time we kiss
And I can’t go on
At least not like this
Is there something that you want to tell me
Is there something that I ought to know
Are we something that’s still worth fighting for
Or should I simply let you go
Is there something I can do to reach you
Are we something more than history
I’ll find some way to convince you to stay
If you just tell me honestly
Is there something left of you and me
I don’t want to lose you
But what’s the use of holding on
I don’t really have you
If the feeling’s gone
Is there something I can do to reach you
Are we something more than history
If there’s no way to convince you to stay
And be the way we used to be
Then there’s something that I want to tell you
And I want you to believe it’s true
We had something that I’ll never forget
Even if I wanted to
‘Cause part of me will always be with you

We are on Day 2 of the Three-Day Lyrical Challenge where I was tagged by Sonali. Do check out her blog here.
Today, I’m tagging Mariam, Karen and The_Aestheticspirit.
And my second song is:
100 Years by Five for Fighting
I’m fifteen for a moment
Caught in between ten and twenty
And I’m just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
I’m twenty two for a moment
She feels better than ever
And we’re on fire
Making our way back from Mars
Fifteen there’s still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
Fifteen, there’s never a wish better than this
When you only got hundred years to live
I’m thirty three for a moment
Still the man, but you see I’m of age
A kid on the way
A family on my mind
I’m forty five for a moment
The sea is high
And I’m heading into a crisis
Chasing the years of my life
Fifteen there’s still time for you
Time to buy, time to lose yourself
Within a morning star
Fifteen I’m all right with you
Fifteen, there’s never a wish better than this
When you only got hundred years to live
Half time goes by
Suddenly you’re wise
Another blink of an eye
Sixty seven is gone
The sun is getting high
We’re moving on
I’m ninety nine for a moment
Dying for just another moment
And I’m just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
Fifteen there’s still time for you
Twenty two I feel her too
Thirty three you’re on your way
Every day’s a new day
Fifteen there’s still time for you
Time to buy and time to choose
Hey fifteen, there’s never a wish better than this
When you only got hundred years to live.
Well, this song could be interpreted in different ways but no matter how you look at it, there’s a very profound meaning. I probably wouldn’t have cared about this song when I was 15 for I still didn’t have enough context about life yet to understand it well. I understood it quite better and appreciate it a lot more as I grow older and thus became one of my all-time favorites.
