Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday hosted by Sam from Taking On A World of Words.

As usual, just answer the three W questions:
What did you recently finish reading?
What are you currently reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Recently Finished
The Merchant of Venice is undoubtedly anti-Semitic, with anti-Jewish stereotypes, persecuting a Jewish villain. The plot is predictable but how we get to the result/end is worth the read. 3 stars.
My Brilliant Life is about Areum, a 16-year-old boy with a body of an 80-year-old man. He looks like an 80-year-old and has illnesses of people of that age. Knowing that he will die soon due to his sickness, accelerated-aging disorder, he decided to write about his parents love story. Achingly good ending. 4 stars.
When the World was Ours is the story of three life-long friends. They were happy together and living peacefully and then the war came. It turned out to be a happy story for one of them but tragic for the other two. It’s not heavy on facts about the WW2 but good enough to give you an idea of what happened during that part of history. Well-written, engaging and an important story. 4 stars.
Currently Reading
I haven’t finished The Jews yet, I think I still have a hundred or so pages more to go but I am learning a lot from it. I am also currently reading Rules of Civility and as with Amor Towles other books, I am also liking this one.
Reading Next
I plan to read Hamlet, another Shakespeare, this coming week and I am excited to read my first Mario Escobar book, The Teacher of Warsaw. I have his other works but haven’t really tried reading them but The Teacher of Warsaw sounds very interesting to me so we’ll see!
How was your reading week?
